    Have you heard about Google Applications, but you're not sure what it's all about? This workshop will introduce you to Google Apps for Education and its capabilities! You will learn the basics to Google Documents and an introduction to iGoogle, Google Calendar, and Google Sites.  These are awesome tools for students and teachers!  You will see how these tools can transform your classroom and allow for even more collaboration with your students anytime and anywhere! It's time for you to learn how to "Go Google" in your classroom.  Your students will love it!

  • This course is a self-directed program created for Black River teachers to explore 21st Century skills and Web 2.o. The objectives of this class are to: •help teachers gain the knowledge and practice they will need to develop 21st century learning skills in their students. •encourage exploration of Web 2.0 •provide teachers with new tools that are available on the Internet to support student learning •reward staff for taking the initiative to complete 8 Things to Know about 21st Century Learning by providing them with an emerging technology to utilize in their classroom.

  • These power point slides will take you through an introduction to SLO development, how to choose assessments and growth targets and how the SLO is scored.  These slides are designed to provide basic information to give participants an overview of the SLO process.

  • This is a combination face to face and online class using the book Creating Robust Vocabulary. The book will be provided.  The class will investigate effective ways to teach vocabulary and is for grades K-12, all subject areas.  Face to face sessions are June 25 and July 9 from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  The rest of the class is online with a final online project due July 13.

  • SMART Standards will focus on providing participants with an opportunity to prepare SMARTBoard lessons and activities for the classroom that are aligned to daily class activities and to the core standards. This course will provide participants with opportunities to create and share ideas with others and will result in them possessing a collection of SMARTBoard activities to use in the classroom. The course is organized for participants to create lessons in all content areas (for elementary staff members), but if you are teaching only one content area, then the course actvitities can be adjusted accordingly.
